Smith and Shaw Pocket Battery
The polished wood case measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 1 3/4". The instructions inside the lid describe a typical bisuphate of mercury battery, however the battery present is an early dry cell. The battery fits the contacts and appears to be an early upgrade, either by the user or the maker. The box is in good condition, with the rear edge of the bottom unglued and a piece of cloth glued to the bottom. The paper label has some damage, but most of the instructions are legible.
